We’re looking for a Kitchen Manager / Chef to take ownership of our kitchen at Splitsville Riverport. With 32 bowling lanes, a full restaurant and bar, and a steady stream of special events, corporate parties and group bookings, no two shifts look the same.
Your Role...
- Run the menu day to day, including the core menu, event packages and prep, and help shape what goes on it next
- Keep food and labour costs where they need to be through ordering, inventory, waste and scheduling
- Hire, train and build up a team of 8 cooks plus support staff
- Stay on top of food safety, inspections and cleaning standards
- Be on the pass when it's busy and work with the front-of-house team to keep tickets moving

The What...
Some nights are quiet. Others, you've got three corporate parties, a full dining room and every lane booked at once. You'll report to the Centre Manager, have a real say in how the kitchen runs, and own the results.
When joining Splitsville Bowl as a Chef/Kitchen Manager, you will receive a thorough induction to set you up for success and ensure you are fully trained in our kitchen operations and how the restaurant integrates within the wider Splitsville Bowl centre. You will also be trained in all areas of the busy centre, including the lanes, the bar and the amusements area.
Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you will be at the heart of the food experience, leading the kitchen team to deliver consistently high-quality food while supporting the overall guest journey within the centre.
This is a varied and hands-on role, with responsibilities ranging from coaching and mentoring the kitchen team, managing food preparation and service, maintaining stock control and food safety compliance, and collaborating closely with the Centre Manager and front-of-house leaders to deliver centre goals and financial targets.
You will be responsible for ensuring the kitchen operates to the highest industry standards, guaranteeing exceptional food quality, cleanliness, and safety, and helping to create a fun, efficient, and welcoming dining experience for all guests.

Kitchen Manager, you’ll have:
- Experience in a kitchen leadership role, ideally within a high-volume restaurant, hospitality or entertainment environment
- The ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop a kitchen team
- A good understanding of food and labour costs and how to manage them effectively
- Strong knowledge of ordering, inventory, waste management and kitchen controls
- A passion for food quality, guest satisfaction and operational excellence
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize during busy services
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with front-of-house and centre management
- FOODSAFE Level 1; Level 2 would be an asset
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
- A positive, energetic and professional leadership style
- Reliable transportation to and from Riverport; free parking is available on site
