Position Summary
Reporting to the Fitness Supervisors and Fitness Coordinator, the Personal Trainer will be responsible for training individuals in private, semi-private, group and/or sport specific activities. The Fitness Trainer must be able to help their clients assess their physical fitness level and encourage and help them set and reach their fitness goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify each client’s specific training needs.
- Design individual fitness programs based on goals, fitness levels and other individual programs; ensuring proper exercise technique, appropriate exercise intensity and high quality of workout.
- Conduct one-on-one or small group exercise sessions.
- Lead specialty fitness or wellness programs as required. i.e. Running, walking etc.
- Motivate clients and team members.
- Respond to First Aid emergencies in accordance to your First Aid Certification.
- Monitor and communicate client progress.
- Connect clients with required information and resources.
- Know and understand the policies and procedures of the Community Services Department.
- Maintain excellent public relations at all time, with staff and the public
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Current Personal Training Specialist Certification.
- Complete all corporate trainings/certifications as required.
- Emergency First Aid with CPR-C.

- Passionate, ambitious, and knowledgeable of current fitness trends.
- Flexible in regards to scheduling.
- Excellent team player; ability to work independently.

- Ability to provide First Aid at the Emergency First Aid Standard.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Requires satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
