Production Technician / Trap Builder

We are looking for a Trap builder to work in our Spartan Industrial Marine branch in Sydney, NS. This is a temporary position to provide coverage during an employee’s absence. The Trap Builder will work with wire and tools to cut, mend and assemble traps as well as provide customer service.

Principle Responsibilities

• Assemble traps as per specifications
• Complete inspections on traps before sending to customers
• Preparing packaging and verify all documents before sending completed orders to shipping
• Follows Quality Control Procedures, as per ISO 9001:2000
• Organizes, cleans, and ensures overall maintenance of the workspace
• Performs general labour and/or maintenance work
• Maintains an efficient production speed with minimal quality issues
• Complies with all safety regulations

Required Knowledge And Training

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in Trap Building an asset
• Able to make basic math calculations
• Repetitive motion of hand and wrists including gripping, twisting, pulling, and pushing
• Able to safely lift 50 lbs. from floor level to waist level
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
