On behalf of our Automotive client, Procom is searching for a Junior Security Engineer for a permanent role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Markham, Ontario office.

Junior Security Engineer - Job Description

The Junior Security Engineer will manage the day-to-day support for data systems, ensuring optimal functionality to support business operations. This role involves coordinating cybersecurity support across platforms and integrating security measures into all aspects of the organization's operations to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

Junior Security Engineer - Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day cybersecurity support across all platforms.
• Troubleshoot and manage security-related issues.
• Manage security enhancement releases.
• Support IT areas in project delivery and develop project plans.
• Provide outstanding customer service and resolve break/fix issues.
• Communicate project updates to various levels of the organization.
• Apply knowledge of security governance and related technologies.

Junior Security Engineer - Mandatory Skills

• University degree in Engineering or Security-specific undergraduate program.
• 0-3 years in IT with a specialization in security.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good understanding of data systems and related technologies.
• Knowledge of security governance, identity access management, and network infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Junior Security Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills

• CISSP, CISA, and/or CISM certifications.
• Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning in security.
• Familiarity with application vulnerability assessment.
• Experience in a similar role within the automotive industry.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure security.
