Social Worker – Children with Disabilities Team (Permanent)
Location: Medway Council, Chatham (Hybrid working available)
Salary: £39,823 – £43,435 (dependent on experience)
Market Supplement of £5,000
Annual Retention of £2,000
Contract: Permanent
Pro Social Partners are proud to be working in partnership with Medway Council to recruit a Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities Team.
Medway combines a competitive core salary with a market supplement and an annual retention payment that together take the overall package beyond £50,000, within a service that has invested seriously in workforce stability and practice support.
The Role
As a Social Worker within the Children with Disabilities Team, you will:
Manage a caseload of disabled children and their families, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
Complete high-quality assessments that balance a child's needs, the risks involved and the support their family needs to keep going.
Build purposeful and trusting relationships with children, young people and their parents and carers.
Coordinate packages of short breaks, direct payments and specialist support alongside health and education partners.
Prepare clear, analytical reports for reviews, panels and court where required.
About You
A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
Post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care, ideally with disabled children.
A strong understanding of the interface between social care, health and education.
Confidence working with complexity, risk and multi-agency partners.
A clear commitment to relationship-based and strengths-led practice.
