General Pupose Of This Position

Reporting to the Manager, AR and Payroll, the Payroll Administrator ensures employees are paid accurately and on time. This role involves collecting, verifying, and processing payroll data, and providing support to internal and external stakeholders requiring payroll-related information or reports.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Health & Safety

  • Comply with all Health and Safety regulations and policies.
  • Identify and report any hazards or infractions to the Health and Safety Department

Payroll Administration

  • Collect, verify, and process payroll timesheets
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to accurately Input and update employee information.
  • Process the semi-monthly hourly and salary payrolls while ensuring accurate and timely payments. Payroll processing will include:
    • Rate/Hours Adjustments
    • Garnishment
    • Payroll Deductions
    • Site Bonus Entries
  • Distribute pay statements.
  • Calculate and reconcile federal legislative source deductions.
  • Process provincial/territorial statutory remittances in a timely manner.
  • Respond to employee inquiries.
  • Assist with training on the electronic timesheet system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Travel Requirements

  • This position would not normally have the requirement to travel.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Diploma in Business Administration or Certificate in Payroll.
  • National Payroll Institute (NPI) designation is an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of payroll experience in a business environment.
  • General understanding of financial accounting and payroll integration.
  • Experience with JD Edwards Oracle software is an asset.
  • Experience in the mining industry is an asset.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Comfortable in a paperless environment; proficient with Adobe Acrobat.

Cementation Americas has successfully implemented a hybrid work schedule in all our Corporate Offices. All office staff have the option of remote work Mondays and Fridays, while working the balance of the week (Tues/Wed/Thurs) in the office.
