Cybersecurity Expert

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a Cybersecurity Expert is looking for a senior Cybersecurity / Security Monitoring specialist to assess and optimize their existing CrowdStrike Falcon environment.

This is NOT a penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, or scanning role. The focus is on CrowdStrike configuration, tuning, detection/monitoring, and SIEM integration.

Responsibilities

• Review and tune the existing CrowdStrike Falcon configuration
• Determine whether monitoring, alerting, log ingestion and retention are optimized
• Identify underutilized CrowdStrike capabilities
• Assess how CrowdStrike works with the organization's other monitoring controls
• Identify opportunities to bring additional log sources into the SIEM
• Produce a comprehensive cybersecurity assessment report with prioritized findings and actionable remediation guidance.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on CrowdStrike Falcon experience — configuring, tuning and optimizing the platform.
• Experience with CrowdStrike Next-Gen SIEM, EDR/Insight, threat intelligence and continuous monitoring.
• Experience optimizing detection, alerting, dashboards, log ingestion and data retention.
• Strong SIEM/security monitoring experience, including integrating additional log sources.
• Ability to conduct a cybersecurity posture assessment, identify gaps and produce practical remediation recommendations.

Nice to have

• CrowdStrike or other recognized cybersecurity certifications
• Experience bringing file-share and audit logs into a SIEM
• NIST Cybersecurity Framework experience
