Job Summary

Supervises the servicing of an assigned area within the budget required and to maintain company and customer quality standards.

Scope Of Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working position, helping with tasks.
  • Assigns daily tasks and responsibilities to employees.
  • Inspects the work on an ongoing basis to ensure quality, and performance is at the expected levels.
  • Assists Supervisor Custodial Services in cleaning audits
  • Assists in the training of new employees.
  • Follows and Trains in Health & Safety procedures.
  • Receive One-Call tickets and assigns to employees for resolution
  • Provides coaching to employees outlining expectations.
  • Respond to customer requests and ensure follow up.
  • Identifies and resolves problems on shift, informs or involves the Manager, as necessary.
  • Keeps track of supplies such as gloves, chemicals, and tools by following supply management procedures.
  • Perform all assigned duties as requested by the Resident Manager.
  • Fill out end of shift briefing on computer

Safety Responsibilities

  • Set an example for associates to follow by incorporating safe work practices in all aspects of their activities and abiding by the Clients & Company’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend all required health & safety training, and meetings.
  • Reports and corrects any safety concerns and advises employees of potential/unsafe conditions or hazards.
  • Complies and enforces the H&S regulations, the OHSA and company policies/procedures in a consistent manner.
  • Ensure/provide necessary training for employees on the hazards of their jobs using the Safe Work Practices and Task Hazard Assessments
  • Ensure/provide training for the operation of equipment at their location.
  • Investigates incidents/injuries/near misses to determine root cause and implement any corrective actions – Reports injuries within 24-hours to the H&S Risk Dept.
  • Fully assists injured workers to ensures participation in the early and safe return to work process as per our RTW policy.
  • Assuring that safety devices and PPE are available and properly utilized.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Is authorized to work in Canada.
  • Ability to meet enhanced government security clearance requirements in order to obtain a Transport Canada security clearance and to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
  • A good standard of general cleaning management.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in facility cleaning management.
  • Strong customer service skills and used to dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Time management skills to manage priorities in an effective way, multi-task, manage regular interruptions and still meet deadlines.
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Initiative-taking and flexible attitude to work undertaken and hours worked with time management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to deal with a diversity of people in a calm, courteous, and effective manner
  • regardless of their conduct.
  • Proficient experience with MS software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook,)
  • Previous experience in a Facility Cleaning Management environment.
  • Previous work experience in a secure department and/or government contract.
