GFL Environmental is looking for a Tandem Roll-Off Driver to join our team in Victoria, British Columbia!

As a Class 3 Tandem Roll-Off Driver with GFL Environmental, you will be the face of our "Green For Life" mission. You will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously delivering, spotting, and hauling roll-off containers to and from commercial, industrial, and construction customer sites. Operating a tandem-axle chassis, you will transport solid waste, construction debris, or recyclables to designated post-collection and disposal facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate roll-off truck and ancillary equipment to collect waste.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisor daily.
  • Responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services for commercial, industrial & residential customers. The driver will collect solid waste or recyclables and transport to post-collection facilities.
  • Operate roll-off truck and ancillary equipment to collect waste. Work routes are away from the branch location on a continuous basis throughout the day.
  • Knowledge of Tandem truck, tarp loads experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and dispatchers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers throughout the day.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively using proper lifting techniques.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisor daily.
  • Follow all safety standards, equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties. Comply with all federal, state/provincial, local and company rules on safety and vehicle operation.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

Requirements

  • Possess valid Commercial Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsements and clear driver's abstract
  • Previous roll off experience preferred
  • Comfortable with early starts
  • Waste, construction Industry experiences an asset
