The Role

The Residential Divisional Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, profitability, and growth of SCMI's Residential Division, encompassing both the Residential Plumbing and Residential Sheet Metal departments.

This role ensures work is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Residential Divisional Manager is accountable for divisional performance, team development, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across all residential operations.

The successful candidate will foster collaboration between field staff, project coordinators, estimators, purchasing, administration, builders, and senior leadership to ensure seamless project execution and sustainable growth.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day oversight of new residential construction projects.
  • Serve as the primary operational contact for key residential builders and customers.
  • Ensure projects progress efficiently from estimate acceptance through final completion.
  • Monitor project schedules, manpower requirements, and resource allocation to maximize productivity.
  • Coordinate with builders, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project timelines are achieved.
  • Establish and achieve divisional sales, profitability, and gross margin objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze divisional financial performance.
  • Work collaboratively with the purchasing team to ensure material availability and efficient inventory management.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of new tools, systems, and technologies that enhance efficiency and customer service.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute long-term growth strategies for the Residential Division.
  • Promote a culture of safety across all residential operations.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company safety programs.
  • Participate in safety reviews, investigations, and corrective action planning when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in residential plumbing, HVAC/sheet metal, construction management, or related operations leadership is an asset.
  • Successful completion of MBA graduate program preferred.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction processes.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, job costing, and financial reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and ERP/job costing systems.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed operational and financial decisions.
  • Valid driver's license.
