Position Overview
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) and the University of Manitoba, Department of Ophthalmology, invite applications for a full-time, permanent Glaucoma Ophthalmologist.
This position includes an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Job duties are performed in English.
About The Department
The University of Manitoba’s Department of Ophthalmology has a long-standing history of:
- Delivering outstanding patient-centered ophthalmic care
- Conducting collaborative clinical and translational research
- Educating and training future ophthalmologists
The Department Current Supports
- Seven residents in the Ophthalmology residency training program
- Subspecialty fellowship training
- Multiple faculty members actively engaged in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
The successful candidate must:
- Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with specialization in Ophthalmology
- Have completed formal subspecialty training in Glaucoma
- Be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
- Be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM)
- Demonstrated experience and strong interest in teaching residents and medical students
- Experience with Competence by Design (CBD) will be given preference
- Excellent surgical and diagnostic skills are required
Compensation
- Compensation is derived from fee-for-service income.
