Maggie Clapperton Psychotherapy is seeking a part time associate psychotherapist specializing in attachment and trauma focused therapies.

Who We Are

Maggie Clapperton Psychotherapy is a private psychotherapy practice located in Hamilton, ON. We take an attachment and trauma oriented approach to psychotherapy.

We specialize in supporting helping professionals, entrepreneurs, and parents struggling with anxiety, self-criticism, and relationships.

Our goal is to support caregivers & leaders to safeguard their superpowers of nurturing, performing and pushing through (when necessary!) while helping them find self compassion, emotional balance, and wellness.

The Role

  • Independent Contractor position
  • 5-10 clinical hours a week (flexibility to add more based on your capacity) and associated planning/paperwork
  • In person in downtown Hamilton and virtual
  • A supportive and collaborative environment where you are free to focus on your clinical work without the stress of finding referrals or paying overhead costs

You…

  • Are a regulated health professional (MSW, RP, etc.) authorized to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy according to the Psychotherapy Act of Ontario (new grads welcome)
  • Have a strong understanding of attachment theory and an associated therapy modality (EFIT, AEDP, IFS/Parts Work, Coherence Therapy, etc.)
  • Are passionate about the transformative power of attachment oriented, psychodynamic therapies
  • Have a strong understanding of the neuroscience of trauma
  • Are comfortable working with developmental trauma from an attachment oriented lens
  • Have strong clinical judgment, ethical practice, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Are committed to client-centered, culturally sensitive care and ongoing professional development
  • Access to a personal computer and a private space for remote sessions
  • Professional liability insurance in line with college requirements (or willing to obtain)
