Elementary Teacher (Grades 3–8) – Neuro-Affirming Micro-School

Neubloom is a neuro-affirming micro-school dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive. We believe in relationship-based learning, hands-on experiences, curiosity, and meeting students where they are. We take a maximum of 10 students and have a 1 to 5 ratio, allowing educators to build meaningful connections and provide individualized support.
We are looking for a passionate, creative, and flexible teacher who is excited to think outside the box and help shape an innovative learning environment.
Position Details
- Location: 2250-100 Collip Circle, London Ontario
- Hours: 35 hours per week. Hours will be scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and may vary slightly from week to week based on school needs.
- Hourly Wage: $22 - $24
- Reports to: Director & Lead Educator

Qualifications
- Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), preferred
- Experience working with neurodivergent children in educational or related settings
- Current First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (or ability to obtain before employment)
- Experience using declarative language and neuro-affirming communication strategies, preferred

- Be flexible, adaptable, and able to respond to changing student needs
- Think creatively and solve problems calmly in a fast-paced environment
- Build positive relationships with students, families, volunteers, and colleagues
- Effectively manage conflict using respectful, relationship-based approaches
- Be organized with excellent time management skills
- Be comfortable teaching multiple subject areas
- Design engaging, hands-on, inquiry-based, and project-based learning experiences
- Differentiate instruction for students working at a variety of grade levels and learning profiles by creating activities with multiple entry points
- Assess student learning continuously and adjust instruction accordingly
- Have a solid understanding of the Ontario curriculum and how to adapt it to individual learners
- Be comfortable using technology including Google Workspace and Canva
- Be eager to learn new educational platforms and resources
- Enjoy spending time outdoors and be comfortable supporting outdoor learning throughout the year
- Use effective de-escalation and behaviour support strategies
Physical Requirements
This position is active and requires the ability to:
- Lift and carry up to 40 lbs
- Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, and sit on the floor while supporting students
- Move quickly and safely to support students who may leave designated learning areas unexpectedly
- Participate in indoor and outdoor learning activities in all seasons
Responsibilities
- Plan and facilitate engaging daily learning experiences
- Create individualized, hands-on learning opportunities that meet diverse student needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Build strong relationships with students and families
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and daily activities
- Work collaboratively with teachers, volunteers, and other team members
- Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming learning environment
- Assist with classroom setup, materials, and daily cleaning responsibilities
- Complete ongoing assessment and documentation of student learning
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional learning opportunities
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to Neubloom's mission and values
