About The Opportunity

We are seeking a full - time S oc ial Me dia Coor dinator who will help to expand Focus on the Family Canada's digital reach, engagement, and ministry impact by delivering compelling social media experiences that connect audiences with biblical resources, ministry initiatives, and organizational priorities.

In this role, you will transform existing content - including articles, videos, podcasts, e-books, campaigns, and ministry resources , into engaging social media experiences tailored to each platform . You will also collaborate with ministry leaders and subject matter experts to identify and capture stories, testimonials, and meaningful ministry moments that can be transformed into engaging social media content .

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for supporting the success of key departmental priorities through the following areas:

  • Social Media Strategy & Audience Growth
  • Grow Focus on the Family Canada ’s digital presence and influence by implementing social media strategies that support organizational priorities, ministry objectives , campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and audience engagement goals .

Success Looks Like

  • Growth in followers, subscribers, and online community size.
  • Increased reach, impressions, and audience engagement.
  • Consistent execution of social media content calendars and campaign priorities .
  • New opportunities for social growth and audience development are identified and implemented.
  • Social channels contribute to ministry awareness and organizational objectives .
  • Content Development & Publishing
  • Ensure Focus on the Family Canada 's ministry content is transformed into engaging, relevant, and platform-optimized social media experiences that strengthen brand awareness, audience engagement, and ministry impact.
  • Develop relationships with ministry leaders and internal subject matter experts to identify and capture stories, insights, interviews, testimonials, and ministry moments that can be transformed into engaging social media content.
  • Produce and coordinate short-form video content (e.g., Reels, Shorts) in collaboration with Creative Services and Media Production to maximize audience engagement across social platforms.

  • Analytics, Insights and Continuous Improvement
  • Use social media data and audience insights to improve content effectiveness, optimize campaigns, and support informed marketing decisions.
  • Preparation of monthly reports and campaign summaries for the Marketing Manager.

About You

  • A deep commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Focus on the Family Canada and a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience .
  • 2+ years of experience managing social media for a brand, organization, or agency with strong understanding of content marketing, digital marketing, audience engagement, SEO and social media optimization best practices .
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with a strong grasp of grammar and punctuation.
  • Strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube , X, Pinterest, and evolving social platforms, along with experience using social media scheduling and analytics tools.
  • Experience adapting long-form content into short-form, highly engaging social media content such as Reels, Shorts, and TikTok s.
  • Familiarity with Canva and basic understanding of photography, video editing, and graphic design principles ; Experience working with HubSpot or other marketing automation platforms is an asset.
  • Experience working in a non-profit or ministry environment is an asset.
  • D etail-oriented, with the ability to follow established processes, and deliver accurate , high-quality work on time in a fast-moving, rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong communicator with the a bility to warmly relate and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing .
