Main Responsibilities (as Needed)

  • Coordinate patient care by carrying out assessments, planning and analysis in collaboration with the physician.
  • Administer vaccinations, provide infant care, perform Pap smears and evaluate patients with various health issues.
  • Manage patient records, consultation information, clinical data and any other information in a thorough and confidential manner using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Assess patients' health to help establish accurate clinical diagnoses and provide follow-up care, as needed.
  • Educate patients about preventive healthcare and disease prevention, and give them tools and advice.
  • Recommend and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Serve as a liaison between the clinic, the hospital, specialists, home care services and community organizations to ensure integrated and continuous care.
  • Stay up to date on medical advances in order to provide high-quality care.
  • Perform all other related clinical, administrative or specific tasks as needed.

Required Education And Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Current registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick (NANB)
  • Basic CPR certification
  • Advanced health assessment and clinical care skills, combined with sound judgment, enabling the care of patients of all ages with a wide range of health issues
  • Knowledge and proficiency in current, evidence-based methods and practices in primary health care delivery, particularly with regard to health promotion, risk reduction and the management of chronic diseases

  • Ability to strictly maintain confidentiality and protect patients' interests
  • High motivation and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including the Internet, an electronic medical record (EMR) system and other relevant software

  • Excellent record-keeping skills, with a strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in English and French given the day-to-day operational requirements
  • General knowledge of New Brunswick's healthcare system is an asset

Working conditions and location

  • Full-time, on-site position
  • Regular hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (8 hours per day)
  • No evening, weekend, or holiday shifts
  • Clinic located in the heart of Dieppe, at 260 Amirault Street
