Senior Scheduler

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Planner/Scheduler to join our Mining Client’s team located in Northern Ontario. This role requires working in the Sudbury office Monday to Thursday 10 hours a day and traveling to the job site when construction projects require your support. Full travel is paid and reimbursed and would require travel to site 4-8 days per month (Mon-Thurs) at maximum but as the project requires.

Must have strong/advanced P6 software experience.

Responsibilities

Provide technical direction and coaching to other planners

Coordinate stakeholder expectations

Responsible for consolidating multiple projects with varying engineering advancement into the master schedule

Great understanding of task definition, resource requirements and durations

Advanced knowledge of P6 and ability to create resource loaded schedules

Implement change management processes into the schedule and validate impacts to the schedule

Ability to monitor and report on resource allocations

Manage the critical path and perform risk analysis to identify risks

Able to interpret Total Float vs Free Float impacts

Prepare and continuously update a 3-month look-ahead report for the capital projects portfolio and each division (EPCM)

Ensure month end Progress Reports for each division is delivered on time

Update the Overall Progress Reports for the capital projects portfolio

Experience with identifying long lead items and construction strategies to optimize the schedule completion date

Qualifications and Requirements

+10 years of progress scheduling in a high paced environment

Experience working in a mining environment

Advanced experience with P6

Proficient in creating initial schedules from conceptual engineering for the baseline

**Can be a T4 employee or work as an Independent Contractor

Hourly Rate Range - $75-$95/hour based on experience
