About the Opportunity

With an exciting pipeline of infill developments, multi-residential communities, and innovative housing projects, they are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join their leadership team. About the Role
Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, you'll provide strategic oversight of construction operations across a diverse residential portfolio. Working closely with development, design, and project delivery teams, you'll ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.
Beyond overseeing construction, you'll play a key role in developing operational processes, mentoring future leaders, and supporting the continued growth of an organization that's challenging traditional approaches to residential development.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Providing leadership and direction to Project Managers, Site Superintendents, and construction teams
- Overseeing multiple residential developments from pre-construction through occupancy
- Developing operational strategies that improve consistency, efficiency, quality, and project delivery
- Supporting pre-construction planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and construction execution
- Driving financial performance through forecasting, cost management, and operational reporting
- Collaborating with development, design, and consultant teams to proactively manage project risks and opportunities
- Building strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and key industry partners
- Championing health and safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Mentoring and developing construction leaders while fostering a collaborative, accountable culture
- Supporting the implementation of innovative construction methodologies and technologies that improve project outcomes
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within residential construction or development
- Experience leading multiple projects and managing high-performing construction teams
- Strong understanding of project delivery, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, contracts, and construction operations
- Proven ability to build teams, develop people, and improve operational systems
- Strong business and financial acumen with experience managing project performance
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Experience with multi-residential, infill development, mixed-use, or purpose-built rental projects would be considered an asset
