Intermediate to Senior Commercial Real Estate Legal Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all documents required for sale, purchase, and mortgage financing transactions from start to finish, including reporting to clients and lenders
  • Review and request real property reports, certificates of title, title insurance and related documents
  • Receive and disburse funds and accurately account for same
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other stakeholders to facilitate an efficient transaction process
  • Work within a team environment
  • Perform administrative duties specific to the team’s needs
  • Prepare and manage billings for various lawyers
  • Prepare closing books in relation to real estate transactions

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary or a combination of work experience (minimum 5 years) in real estate (preferably commercial)
  • Solid practice management experience working for multiple lawyers.
  • Corporate experience is an asset
  • Experience with Alberta Land Titles and PPSA searches
  • Experience in conveyancing software, PC Law and NetDocuments is an asset
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with general due diligence

  • Dependable and can also work independently
  • Flexible and adaptable
