Summary

The Picker will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of residential, commercial, or industrial waste and recyclable materials along designated routes. This role supports public health by ensuring timely service, adherence to safety and environmental regulations, and respectful interaction with the community.

Responsibilities

As a Picker, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Adhering to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Ensure timely collection of waste and recyclable materials.
  • You must be highly productive and have excellent customer services skills.
  • Comply with all Miller Waste System and Provincial health and safety policies and procedures.

Competencies & Qualifications

  • Successful candidates will be mechanically inclined and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Should possess a strong desire to learn and an ability to apply that knowledge during their daily duties.
  • You must be a team player with safe working habits and a clean driving record.
  • Flexibility with your work schedule is a must, as start and end times may vary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • A physically fit lifestyle would be a benefit and previous waste industry experience would be considered an asset.
  • Flexibility is also required as this position occasionally requires travel, early starts, late finishes and, on rare occasions, weekend work.
