Who are we?

The Lethbridge Community Out-of-School Care Association (L.C.O.S.A) It's A BLAST Program is a licensed, non-profit organization that was founded in 1992 with the vision of becoming the premier out-of-school care program in Lethbridge. Since then, we've become a leader in community out-of school care with 14 programs in 14 separate elementary schools throughout the city. In addition to our school year programs, we also run various summer day camps for children ages 5-12.

About the position

As the Human Resources Assistant—Administration, you will be an integral member of our HR team. Specific responsibilities for this position include:

  • Participating in an on-call rotation with other members of the HR team (from 6 am - 8:30 am)
  • Maintaining employee personnel files
  • Assisting in creating and reviewing schedules
  • Facilitating semi-annual training for employees
  • Acting as back-up for payroll and government claims processes
  • Running the Health & Safety Program
  • Coordinating with all departments to ensure creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Creating and maintaining organizational policies and procedures
  • Visiting programs for check-ins and inspections
  • Any other general HR administrative duties that may arise

At times, you may be required to cross-cover other duties in the department, such as recruitment and orientation/onboarding.

Preferred qualifications/education

  • Minimum 2 years experience in an Administrative, HR, or Accounting Role
  • Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in the field of Human Resources preferred, but not required
  • Clean Criminal Record Check conducted by the RCMP or LPS
