As a Senior Collection Representative, you will play a key role in protecting the company's financial interests by managing a portfolio of commercial accounts and identifying opportunities to mitigate risk while delivering a positive customer experience. Your goal will be to drive timely payment resolution, reduce account delinquency, and support healthy customer relationships. Your success will be achieved through thoughtful risk assessment, effective negotiation, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Your Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of commercial accounts, balancing customer relationships with effective risk mitigation strategies
- Engage customers to resolve outstanding balances through proactive collection activities and negotiated repayment solutions
- Assess account risk and determine appropriate collection actions, escalating complex matters when required
- Prioritize collection efforts based on portfolio exposure, aging trends, and risk indicators
- Prepare and coordinate accounts for third-party collections, legal action, or agency placement as appropriate
- Analyze account activity, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve collection outcomes
- Maintain accurate customer account records and ensure collection activities comply with established processes and policies
- Support departmental projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance team effectiveness
- Act as a trusted resource within the team by sharing expertise and supporting knowledge transfer when required
Your Skills
- Ability to assess financial risk, identify emerging collection issues, and take appropriate action to protect the business
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes while maintaining customer relationships
- Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities when managing complex collection matters and escalations
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and effectively manage a high-volume commercial portfolio
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret account trends, identify root causes, and recommend solutions
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on streamlining processes and enhancing collection performance
Your Experience
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of progressively responsible collections experience, including management of complex commercial account portfolios
- Demonstrated experience assessing credit risk, negotiating payment solutions, and resolving challenging collection matters with minimal supervision; professional credit designations, sales experience, and bilingualism in French and English are considered assets
