About the Role

BrightStar Respite is seeking an experienced, compassionate Team Lead for Cheyenne Lodge, a residential program supporting up to four girls (ages 13–18) with complex mental health and addiction needs. You will oversee daily operations, lead a dedicated team of staff, and ensure trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Child and Family Services (CFS) and Delegated First Nations Agencies (DFNA), facilitate Circle of Care meetings, and partner with our HR team on staffing and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Operations: Oversee day-to-day lodge operations, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. Supervise, schedule, and support a team of full-time, part-time, and casual staff.
  • Youth Support: Facilitate Circle of Care meetings, oversee individualized support plans, and respond to critical incidents with calm, trauma-informed leadership.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison with CFS/DFNA caseworkers, ensuring all documentation and reporting requirements are met.
  • Program Management: Develop culturally responsive meal plans and engaging recreational programming tailored to the youth's needs and interests.
  • Compliance: Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to CARF, CFS/DFNA, and AHS standards.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in a Human Services field (e.g., Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology).
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience supporting youth with mental health/addiction needs.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience in a related setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of CFS/DFNA systems, Bill C-92, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s Licence, clear 3-year abstract, and a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Current CPR First Aid, clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Intervention Record Check (within 6 months).
  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (or ability to obtain prior to start).
