The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the shipping, receiving and distribution of CNC supplies, materials, and equipment. In addition, the Shipper/Receiver oversees the warehouse facility, and mailroom. Specific Duties

  • Responsible for the receiving and processing incoming shipments, including validating/verifying received items as per specifications and reporting discrepancies/damage/spoilage; and recording receipt within appropriate CNC systems.
  • Ensures Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) sheets are enclosed with shipments where applicable and forwarded to appropriate departments.
  • Ensures appropriate documentation is prepared for shipments, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) forms.
  • Responsible for preparing, staging, and coordinating outbound shipments with logistics partners in a cost-effective manner.
  • Responds to staff and vendor questions regarding items received/shipped
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment within the warehouse, ensuring the safety of all users of the Shipping/Receiving area are in compliance with WorkSafe BC regulation and guidelines.
  • Responsible for mailroom activity, including daily distribution of incoming/outgoing mail; assignment of mailboxes; maintaining a listing of mailbox assignments, and provide a copy of listing to departments when required.
  • Delivers items to departments as required
  • Distributes student assignments from the drop box.
  • Distributes any inbound shipments to mailroom, when applicable.
  • Maintains confidentiality around sensitive information.

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designate.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School completion plus Operational Forklift and TDG training and certification
  • 1 year or more Minimum of one year experience in Receiving and Shipping.
  • Customer service focus and good interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated keyboarding skills.
  • Good working knowledge of common office software applications.
  • WHMIS certification required.
  • Initiative to work independently
  • Physical ability to complete the demands of the job
