Distribution Designer / Technologist

Primary is seeking a Distribution Designer/Technologist to join our Utility Design team in Victoria, BC.

In this role, you will support the design and coordination of underground and overhead electrical distribution infrastructure projects, working closely with project managers, designers, drafters, inspectors, clients, utilities, municipalities, and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate will contribute to electrical and civil design, project estimating, engineering calculations, drawing reviews, site visits, schedule tracking, drafting, and design coordination. What we're looking for

• Engineering Technologist diploma or Bachelor of Engineering/Applied Science degree from a recognized college or university (electrical or civil preferred).
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build professional business relationships.
• Demonstrated self-motivation and a drive for continuous improvement.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
• Class 5 driver's license.

Experience with BC Hydro standards, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SPIDAcalc, PLS-CADD, Pull Planner, electrical distribution design and cost estimating, shallow utility design, or VBA macros in Microsoft Excel would be considered an asset.
