We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Property Accountant to join our growing team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Property Accountant is responsible for the full cycle accounting and financial reporting of a portfolio of commercial and residential properties. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

 Prepare monthly bank files for the pre-authorized collection of more than 300 tenant rent payments.

 Record monthly rental revenue and maintain accurate tenant accounting records.

 Review and approve monthly bank and corporate credit card reconciliations for multiple legal entities.

 Oversee accounts payable processing and vendor payment functions.

 Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.

 Prepare KPI reports and ad hoc financial analysis for management.

  • Support year-end audit preparation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Perform other duties as required. Qualifications & Skills
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

 CPA designation (or actively pursuing designation) is considered a strong asset.

 Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience.

 Experience in property management, real estate, or multi-entity accounting is considered an asset.

 Strong understanding of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (ASPE)

 Experience with QuickBooks Online or comparable accounting software.

 Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

 Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

 High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

 Strong verbal and written communication skills.

 Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
