Job Summary

The Team

The Corporate Wildfire Services team at the Southeast Fire Centre plays a key role in supporting the region’s financial and administrative operations. From processing invoices to providing HR support for approximately 325 auxiliary and 75 full-time staff, this dedicated team works collaboratively behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly.

Made up of both experienced professionals and newer team members, the group values teamwork, knowledge-sharing, and continuous learning. Team members support one another, celebrate successes, and step in when challenges arise, creating an environment where everyone can contribute and grow. Whether it's helping a colleague solve a problem, sharing expertise, or working together to meet tight deadlines, collaboration is at the heart of how the team operates.

The team takes pride in delivering accurate, timely service while maintaining a positive and respectful workplace culture. Relationships matter, and team members enjoy building connections not only within Corporate Wildfire Services but also with staff across the fire centre. Their work touches every part of the organization—from supporting staff and managing contracts to ensuring vendors are paid and HR processes run seamlessly. Through their commitment and expertise, they help create a supportive environment that enables wildfire operations to succeed.

The Role

The Wildfire Corporate Finance Clerk is an important part of this team, helping ensure financial processes are accurate, efficient, and compliant. Working alongside three other Finance Clerks, you will review and analyze financial transactions, verify accuracy, and ensure compliance with financial legislation, policies, and procedures. When needed, you will investigate and correct discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial records.

In addition to financial responsibilities, you will support the broader Corporate Wildfire Services team by producing reports and assisting with a variety of administrative tasks. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will regularly collaborate with colleagues, staff, clients, partners, and stakeholders.

This is a rewarding opportunity to learn, develop new skills, and build meaningful relationships across the organization. You'll join a team that values collaboration, encourages professional growth, and recognizes the importance of every team member's contribution. If you enjoy working in a supportive environment where your work has a direct impact on the people who support wildfire operations, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a difference. The position also provides flexibility, including the option of a modified work schedule that offers a day off every two weeks, as well as opportunities for overtime during peak periods.
