Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $54,500-75,300

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring product compliance with customer requirements and IATF standards by utilizing advanced quality assurance tools and techniques. This includes generating and analyzing 3D laser scans, assisting in root cause investigations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives and engineering activities.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in a quality assurance role, preferably in an IATF 16949-registered automotive environment
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or other relevant certifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct 3D laser scanning of parts to validate compliance with dimensional specifications
  • Analyze scan data using PolyWorks 2020 or equivalent
  • Oversee the completion of process measurement including first off and last off measurements
  • Prepare dimensional reports and submit findings to engineering and customers as required
  • Participate in root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram)
  • Participate in the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues
  • Maintain and improve processes to comply with IATF 16949 requirements
  • Maintain Document Control system with support from QA Supervisor
  • Participate in internal and external audits, including customer and third-party audits
  • Support the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and submission of quality documentation
  • Participate in response to customer quality concerns and assist in managing resolution activities
  • Perform dock audits / Clean Launch activity for outgoing shipments
  • Assist in quality checks for production lines to ensure process consistency
  • Perform daily first off data collection
  • Maintain “red rabbit” error proofing tool
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as scrap rate, defect rate, and customer PPM
  • Other quality-related duties as assigned by the Quality Manager

Skills

  • Strong understanding of quality core tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
  • Hands-on experience with problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, or DMAIC)
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with 3D scanning tools and analysis software (e.g., PolyWorks or similar), preferred
