The bigger picture
We're looking for a strategic, emotionally intelligent
Senior Communications Advisor – Internal who thrives in complexity and is energized by helping people navigate change during a period of significant organizational transformation.
As Conexus, Cornerstone, and Synergy come together as one provincial credit union, you'll play a key role in helping employees and leaders move forward with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
You'll be at the centre of complex, enterprise-wide initiatives, translating fast-moving decisions into meaningful communication, equipping leaders to lead well, and ensuring employees understand what's changing, why it matters, and what comes next. Few communications roles offer the opportunity to influence how employees experience change, understand decisions, and come together as one organization.
This role is based at our Head Office in Regina or other Conexus locations across the province; however, remote options, from within Saskatchewan, will be considered in the absence of branch availability.
How you’ll be spending your time
- Lead communication strategies and plans that support enterprise priorities, operational initiatives, organizational change, and major integration milestones.
- Translate complex strategies, decisions, and operational changes into clear, relevant, and practical messages that help employees and leaders understand what it means for them and what to do next.
- Partner closely with leaders and subject matter experts to ensure messaging is aligned, actionable, and supports effective decision-making and execution.
- Equip leaders with the tools they need to communicate effectively (key messages, FAQs, briefing notes, talking points, and conversation guides), with a strong focus on clarity and consistency.
- Develop change communication approaches that reduce uncertainty, support adoption, and help employees navigate new systems, structures, processes, and ways of working.
- Use employee feedback and listening insights (e.g., surveys, pulse checks, frontline feedback) to shape communication approaches, anticipate questions, and strengthen engagement.
- Manage and continuously improve how information flows across the organization—ensuring employees receive the right information, at the right time, through the right channels.
- Create high-quality content across internal channels (intranet, Viva Engage, enterprise calls, etc.) that is clear, consistent, and aligned to our brand and tone.
- Support internal communications during business disruptions or high-impact moments by providing clear, timely, and empathetic updates and guidance.
- Provide backup support to external communications when needed to ensure alignment and a coordinated enterprise response.
The way people describe you
You’re known for bringing clarity to complexity. You can take a large volume of information, quickly get to what matters, and turn it into communication that is clear, focused, and useful.
You understand change. You know that not everyone experiences change the same way, and you’re intentional about meeting people where they’re at, adapting messaging, tone, and tactics to support understanding, reduce ambiguity, and help move teams forward through change, not just understand it.
You build trust through strong judgment, authenticity, and follow-through. You're skilled at partnering with leaders and helping them communicate with clarity and confidence.
You're a strong storyteller who knows that how a message is delivered matters just as much as the message itself. You think beyond standard tactics, choosing the right channels and formats—from video to leader-led conversations—to ensure communication connects, resonates, and drives action.
You're pragmatic and adaptable, comfortable working through ambiguity, shifting priorities, and evolving information while keeping people focused on what matters most.
You’re naturally curious and always looking for ways to improve how communication works, simplifying where possible and finding creative ways to connect people to the bigger picture and the progress we’re making together.
The experience you bring
- 7+ years of progressive communications experience, with strong expertise in internal communications, change communications, and stakeholder engagement.
- Post-secondary degree in Communications, Public/Media Relations, Journalism, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Proven ability to build and execute communication strategies that support organizational priorities and drive alignment and engagement.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with strong judgment on message clarity, tone, and audience needs.
- Experience advising leaders, developing communication tools, and supporting leader effectiveness as communicators.
- Strong understanding of communication planning for complex change initiatives and organizational transformation.
- Experience using metrics, feedback, and insights to evaluate communication effectiveness and improve outcomes.
- Strong collaboration, prioritization, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
- Assets: Prosci Change Management accreditation/experience; familiarity with financial services or regulated environments.
