We are looking for a dedicated, organized, and flexible individual to join our Equipment Maintenance Team at 250 Royal Oak Road, Cambridge.
This position is for a Forklift Mechanic responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of our fleet of forklifts, material handling equipment, and related machinery.
Schedule: Monday to Thursday: 7:00 am – 4:30 pm and Friday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and propane systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair drive motors, steering systems, brakes, transmissions, and lift mechanisms.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment meets operational and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Perform repairs and maintenance at company facilities and customer locations as required.
- Identify parts requirements and assist with inventory management.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Forklift Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Technician, Automotive Technician, or similar mechanical trade.
- Valid G Class Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience with electric, propane, and diesel-powered forklifts.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting and diagnostics using modern testing equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset.
- Mobile equipment, aerial lift, or material handling equipment experience is considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
