This position is part of the Rotary and Mission Systems business area, where employees across Canada support engineering, systems integration, training, sustainment and in-service support programs for Canadian and international military customers across land, air and sea.
Specific Job Description
Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin) is Canada's most successful Combat System Integrator (CSI) specializing in large, sophisticated integration projects. We take advantage of advanced engineering practices and modern technologies to design, develop and integrate combat systems for naval warships. We are seeking motivated and high performing people with specific skills to become part of our dynamic Naval Programs team.
The candidate will support the Halifax Class Combat Systems Integration In Service Support (CSI ISS) program and will be called to work at CFB Stadacona in Halifax once the necessary security clearances have been granted by the government of Canada. They will function within a multi-disciplined team environment and perform engineering tasks spanning the complete life cycle of the systems from specification, design, development, integration & test, deployment, maintenance and field troubleshooting.
The candidate will participate in engineering activities including but not limited to:
- Support international interoperability verification of the Halifax Class Combat System.
- Participate in interoperability verification events.
- Participate in post-verification event data analysis and reporting.
- Support any investigations or reports resulting from interoperability verification events.
- Ensure all System Problem Reports (SPRs) resulting from interoperability verification events are created.
- Participate in the development of Systems/Software change designs to ensure that interoperability requirements are being met where applicable.
- System architecture and design
- System integration planning
- Design documentation
- Following systems engineering processes and best practices.
- Support the development and review of future interoperability standards.
Required skills, qualifications and experience:
- Possess bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; proven ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable documentation
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Works well individually or in a team environment.
- Ability to acquire NATO Secret Security clearance.
- A Canadian passport or capability to obtain a Canadian passport and the ability to travel for 2-4 weeks per year.
- Experience with data analysis and root cause analysis
Desired skills, qualifications and experience:
- Knowledge of Redmine and Windchill
- Experience with the Combat Management System (CMS) 330
- Experience with Agile development methodology
- Experience in the Navy or Defence domains
- Model Based System Engineering experience.
