We're looking for a passionate, experienced Sous Chef to help build an exciting culinary program from the ground up.

At The Iron, our menus celebrate modern Canadian cuisine, showcasing seasonal ingredients, scratch cooking, and the flavours of Northern Ontario, while drawing inspiration from French and Japanese techniques. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing team where your ideas, leadership, and creativity will make an impact.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Chef with kitchen operations and service
  • Prepare and execute high-quality menu items with consistency
  • Lead and mentor kitchen staff
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and cost control
  • Help execute weddings, tournaments, and special events
  • Take charge of the kitchen in the Chef's absence

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a kitchen (asset)
  • Experience in fine dining, upscale casual, hotel, resort, private club, or similar environment
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Food Handler Certification (required)
  • Red Seal or culinary education considered an asset
  • Passion for scratch cooking and continuous learning

What We Offer

  • $25.00-$30.00/hour based on experience

Schedule

The Iron is currently operating an event-based, and preliminary testing schedule while preparing for full restaurant operations. Hours will initially vary, with the goal of transitioning the right Sous Chef to full-time scheduled hours.
