Contract Position: Instructor, University Studies (Art History) - Fall 2026

The Opportunity

Keyano College’s School of Business, University Studies & Academic Upgrading is seeking a Contract Instructor to teach the following course for the Fall 2026 semester (August 26 – December 16, 2026):

  • ARTH 101 - Introduction to History of Art I

This course is a survey of art-painting, sculpture and architecture from prehistory to the end of the 14th century. The course concentrates on the art of western (European based) cultures with consideration given to the important social, historical and cultural events that impact on the development of art.

Additional: This applicant pool may also be used to staff general arts courses.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Primarily teach their specific courses across the curriculum
  • Maintaining office hours and student mentorship/engagement
  • Maintaining professional competence and knowledge of subject matter

Qualifications

Required Qualification:

  • Minimum Master of Arts or a related field. PhD is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year cumulative post-secondary teaching experience
  • Proficient with the use of learning technologies
  • Excellent classroom management and instructional skills
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Dependable and resourceful team member with a proven track record of managing multiple competing priorities with a calm professional approach
  • Commitment to inclusion and diversity

Compensation and Benefits

  • Placement on the wage grid is reflective upon educational and experiential qualifications.
