FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGER

Lethbridge Curling Club – Lethbridge, Alberta

The Lethbridge Curling Club, established in 1887, is one of Canada's largest and most respected curling facilities. Located within the Cavendish Centre, the Club serves 550 members and public annually while hosting leagues, bonspiels, championships, and community events. We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Front of House Manager to lead our lounge and beverage service operations.

Salary: Negotiable. Based on experience.

Term: Seasonal (September – May) with potential for summer employment.

Position Summary

Reporting to the General Manager, the Front of House Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the lounge and rink side windows, while ensuring exceptional member and guest experiences through strong leadership, organization, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Administration

  • Manage FOH staffing, schedules, and service standards.
  • Oversee beverage ordering, inventories, cash controls, and sales reporting.
  • Maintain lounge facilities, furnishings, equipment, and inventory assets.
  • Complete monthly inventory counts and monitor expenses and event billing.
  • Ensure cleanliness and quality standards throughout the lounge and bar.

Staff Leadership

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise front-of-house staff.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Process payroll information, timesheets, and tip distributions.
  • Work closely with the General Manager, Head Chef, and Club staff.
  • Resolve member, guest, and staff concerns in a timely manner.

Events & Member Services

  • Coordinate lounge, banquet, catering, and special event operations.
  • Maintain event calendars and booking schedules.
  • Build positive relationships with members and guests.
  • Assist with menus, promotions, and lounge communications.

Compliance

  • Enforce Club policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta liquor regulations, health regulations, and employment standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hospitality, restaurant, lounge, or event management experience.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with inventory management, cash controls, and staff supervision.
  • ProServe Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events.
