The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Plant Operator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be at the heart of our innovative process, operating a range of process equipment to recover high-purity copper from industrial waste streams. This is a hands-on position ideal for an experienced operator who is passionate about process efficiency, safety, and contributing to a sustainable future in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor chemical processes and systems using control boards, HMI/PLCs, and other instrumentation to ensure operational conformity.
  • Collect product samples and perform routine quality control tests to ensure products meet stringent purity standards.
  • Maintain detailed operational logs by accurately recording process conditions, test results, and instrument readings.
  • Conduct regular inspections and patrols of work areas and operating units (e.g., tanks, scrubbers, driers) to ensure safe and efficient functioning.
  • Perform routine cleaning and light maintenance of equipment and the operational area to uphold safety and efficiency standards.
  • Collaborate with technical staff and supervisors to report and resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, or product quality.
  • Execute emergency shutdown procedures safely and efficiently as directed by supervisory personnel.

What You Bring

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a process operator in chemical manufacturing, mining, industrial processing, or a related heavy industry.
  • A deep commitment to safety, with a proven track record of upholding safety standards for yourself and your team.
  • Working knowledge of Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Forklift certification and operating experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Physical ability to safely and repeatedly lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
  • A basic understanding of chemistry, mechanical, or electrical systems is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency with computers, including HMI/PLC systems and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
