Position: Full-time
Location: Vancouver
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Salary: 125k-140k base salary based on experience

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will be responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the Company’s financial reporting and accounting processes. This hands-on role is focused on leading the month-end close, preparing internal and external financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and driving continuous process improvements.
The role is suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating with limited structure, taking ownership, and building processes from the ground up to support a scaling, publicly listed manufacturing business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Close & Reporting
· Lead and manage the full month-end and quarter-end close process
· Prepare consolidated financial statements under IFRS
· Own internal and external financial reporting deliverables
· Draft MD&A and support public company disclosures
· Ensure audit-ready financials and documentation
Audit & External Reporting
· Serve as primary contact for external auditors
· Manage annual audit and quarterly review processes
· Liaise with external advisors including audit, tax, and SR&ED
Inventory & Cost Accounting
· Own the accuracy and integrity of inventory and cost accounting, including valuation, costing methodology, and cost of goods sold
· Maintain and continuously improve costing structures within NetSuite, including BOMs, routing, and standard costs as applicable
· Analyze production costs and variances, working closely with operations to understand and resolve drivers
· Ensure proper cut-off, tracking, and reconciliation of inventory across multiple locations, including production, warehouse, and R&D
· Establish scalable processes and controls to support inventory management and production growth
· Partner with operations to improve visibility, discipline, and accountability over inventory usage and costing
Internal Controls, Cash & Core Accounting Processes
· Establish and maintain internal controls over financial reporting
· Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal controls
· Monitor short-term cash flow and cash position in coordination with the CFO
· Oversee payroll processes to ensure accurate and compliant payroll reporting
· Improve close timelines and reporting reliability
· Drive process improvements and scalability
Systems & Process Improvement
· Utilize NetSuite, Excel, and reporting tools
· Automate workflows and enhance reporting efficiency
· Leverage technology and reporting tools to improve finance processes, reporting efficiency, and decision support while maintaining strong controls and confidentiality
Team Collaboration
· Work closely with the CFO and manage/support the Assistant Controller as part of a lean finance team
· Provide clear direction, review, and coaching while maintaining a collaborative, hands-on approach
· Contribute to a team culture focused on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
Operating Environment & Mindset

· Take ownership of building and improving processes as the business scales
· Operate effectively with limited structure and changing priorities
Qualifications
· CPA designation (required)
· 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
· IFRS reporting experience
· Public company experience preferred
· Manufacturing and inventory costing experience (required)
· NetSuite or similar ERP experience
