Boart Longyear is seeking a qualified
Maintenance Technician (Millwright – 433A) to support equipment reliability and production uptime in a unionized manufacturing environment.
This role is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, with a strong focus on mechanical systems, hydraulics, alignment, and precision maintenance. The Millwright will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring safe, efficient operations.
Rate: $38.50/hour

Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including conveyors, presses, CNC equipment, and automated systems
- Execute precision alignment, leveling, and calibration of machinery (e.g., shafts, bearings, gearboxes)
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble industrial equipment, replacing worn or defective components
- Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals to support troubleshooting and repairs
- Support installation, commissioning, and relocation of equipment as required
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions in a timely manner
- Apply and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) and all safety procedures
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection logs
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and other trades to improve equipment reliability and performance
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Key Skills & Competencies
- Mechanical Expertise: Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, bearings, lubrication systems, and mechanical drives
- Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose complex equipment failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA)
- Precision Maintenance: Skilled in alignment, tolerances, and vibration awareness
- Preventive Maintenance: Experience with PM programs and reliability practices
- Safety Compliance: Strong adherence to safety standards, including LOTO and safe work practices
- Documentation: Accurate and timely completion of maintenance records
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a unionized, cross-functional environment
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
Qualifications
Education & Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Millwright License (433A Industrial Mechanic) required
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with CNC machinery, automated systems, or heavy industrial equipment is an asset
Languages
- English required

- Work Environment: Manufacturing shop floor
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks (standing, bending, climbing, working in confined spaces as required)
