POSITION: Director, Marketing + Ecommerce

We're looking for a Director of Marketing + Ecommerce to own that experience end to end: the strategy, the storytelling, the numbers, and the people who make it all happen.

You'll partner closely with our CEO and Creative Director, shape brand and revenue strategy across ecommerce and wholesale, and build a marketing team that does its best work. LOCATION: Gentle Fawn HQ

LOCATION: Salary Range: $90,000–$120,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Marketing & Ecommerce team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and manage department team members.
  • Establish team goals, KPIs, and performance expectations.
  • Manage departmental resources, priorities, and external agency relationships.
  • Facilitate department and cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment and accountability.
  • Contribute as a member of the leadership team, supporting company-wide initiatives and strategic decision-making.

Strategy, Planning & Performance

  • Develop and execute the annual Marketing & Ecommerce strategy in alignment with company objectives.
  • Establish departmental goals, budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators.
  • Lead ecommerce revenue forecasting and seasonal sales + inventory planning.
  • Oversee business reporting, performance analysis, and executive presentations.
  • Monitor marketing and ecommerce performance, identifying opportunities to drive growth and support company objectives.
  • Review ecommerce inventory investments in partnership with the Ecommerce Manager and CEO.

Brand, Creative & Marketing

  • Lead the overall brand and marketing strategy alongside the Creative Director.
  • Oversee integrated marketing campaigns across ecommerce and wholesale channels.
  • Direct seasonal campaign development, brand storytelling, and creative production.
  • Provide final approval on creative assets, influencer partnerships, social media strategy, email marketing direction, and key marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure all marketing and creative output aligns with brand standards and business objectives.

Ecommerce & Customer Experience

  • Provide strategic oversight of the ecommerce business, ensuring alignment with revenue and customer experience goals.
  • Partner with the Ecommerce Manager to identify growth opportunities, including ecommerce-exclusive products and website enhancements.
  • Approve major website initiatives, merchandising strategies, and customer experience improvements.
  • Ensure the ecommerce channel supports broader business objectives and delivers an exceptional customer experience.

Wholesale Marketing

  • Lead seasonal wholesale marketing planning in partnership with the Director of Sales.
  • Oversee the development of wholesale marketing materials, including sales tools, campaign assets, and launch materials.
  • Coordinate cross-functional timelines to support successful seasonal wholesale launches.
  • Approve wholesale marketing assets alongside the Creative Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

· 8+ years of progressive experience in marketing, ecommerce, or brand leadership, with at least 3 years leading high-performing teams.

· Proven experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive brand growth and business performance.

· Strong understanding of ecommerce, digital marketing, customer acquisition, retention, merchandising, and customer experience.

· Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with creative, sales, ecommerce, operations, and executive leadership teams.

· Demonstrated ability to develop budgets, forecasts, business plans, and performance reporting using data to inform strategic decisions.

· Strong commercial acumen with experience balancing brand objectives and revenue growth.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Passion for building and developing teams through coaching, mentorship, and accountability.

· Highly organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented with exceptional attention to detail.

· Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce, Communications, or a related field is preferred.

· Experience with Shopify, Klaviyo, Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, and modern ecommerce technology platforms.

· Experience managing agency, influencer, PR, and creative production relationships.

· Experience within the fashion, apparel, lifestyle, or consumer goods industry is an asset.
