As a Police Information Check Representative, you will provide front-line customer service and information to internal and external applicants requiring a Police Information Check, Record Suspension or Vulnerable Sector fingerprint processing. Primary duties include:

  • Assist customers and facilitate the application process for Police Information Checks (PIC) and other related services.
  • Handle cash including financial balancing, reconciliation, and reporting on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Collect fingerprints for Vulnerable Sector Searches (VSS) using Livescan technology and/or hardcopy inked fingerprinting techniques; ensure proper processes are followed, including verification of applicant information.
  • Provide general administrative support for the Police Information Check Unit (PICU) as required.

Working Conditions: This is a front counter position with potential exposure to difficult clients.

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or equivalency (e.g., GED) and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Previous customer service experience in a high volume, front counter environment within the last 5 years.
  • A minimum of 35 WPM typing speed and a beginner skill level in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Experience with cash handling, Point-of-Sale, financial balancing, reconciliation and reporting is also required.
  • Prior experience using Livescan and/or hardcopy inked fingerprinting techniques will be considered an asset.

  • An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
  • Applicants will be tested for appropriate skills.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.

Compensation: Pay Grade 5 $32.29 - 43.16 per hour

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week

Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with one day off in a 3 week cycle.

Location: 5111 47 Street N.E.
