Who you are
You are a motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional with a solid foundation in financial processes and reporting. You have 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, where you have developed hands-on expertise in general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close activities .
You bring strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of your work. You are organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You are also an effective communicator, capable of working collaboratively with colleagues across teams.
You are proficient in spreadsheet applications (such as Microsoft Excel), including the use of formulas, data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
University degree in Business Administration or a related field with a minimum of 5 years related worked experience.
A Professional accounting designation would be an asset.
What you will do
As an Intermediate Accountant, you will:
- Prepare, post, and approve journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure accuracy and completeness Support month end and year end close processes, ensuring timelines are met Analyze financial information and provide explanations for variances or discrepancies
- Assist with audit preparation by compiling documentation, supporting schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and support financial operations
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in accounting activities
- Provide guidance, technical support and mentorship to general accounting staff
