Duties

The Koiter Lab at Brandon University is hiring a research assistant to support a carbon inventory project focused on agricultural landscapes. Duties include:

  • Assist with field collection of soil, sediment, vegetation, and water samples
  • Prepare materials (soil and vegetation samples) for research
  • Assist with standard laboratory analysis (e.g., texture, bulk density)
  • Assist with data entry, summarizing, and reporting
  • Assist with duties related to the production of articles, publications, reports and presentations

and other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience

The ideal candidate will have experience in:

  • Laboratory preparation and analysis of soil and vegetation samples
  • Field collection of soil and vegetation samples
  • Traveling and working in rural areas

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in geography, environmental science, biology, or other Earth science disciplines
  • Canadian Class 5 drivers license
