Loader Operator - Rig

General Statement of Duties

This role assists with material handling, rig-up/rig-down activities, yard management, and general crew support while maintaining strict adherence to safety procedures and operational standards.

Summary of Duties (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):

• Operate loader equipment safely to move pipe, materials, and equipment on location;
• Assist with rig-up, rig-down, and site preparation activities;
• Support drilling crew with general labour tasks as required;
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of lease, doghouse, and equipment areas;
• Load and unload deliveries, supplies, and equipment using various loader attachments, including but not limited to buckets, grapples, pallet forks, and other approved tools.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report mechanical concerns;
• Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and hazard assessments;
• Assist with snow removal, site access, and yard maintenance when required;
• Communicate effectively with crew members to ensure safe material movement around active operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment;
• Strong awareness of site safety and hazard recognition;
• Ability to follow direction in a fast-paced operational setting;
• Effective teamwork and communication skills;
• Ability to perform both equipment and general labour duties;

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Previous oilfield or heavy equipment experience considered an asset;
• Valid safety certifications as required by Savanna (H2S Alive, First Aid, etc.);
• Ability to operate loader equipment safely in an active drilling environments.

Working Conditions

• Field-based position on active drilling rigs;
• Exposure to varying weather conditions;
• Shift-based rotational schedule;
• Physical demands including lifting, climbing, and extended periods of standing.

Pay: From $41.00 per hour
