Who We Are

Simon Fraser University is a leading research university, advancing an inclusive and sustainable future. Our purpose – the essence of SFU – is to create and connect knowledge, learning and community for deeper understanding and meaningful impact. We are committed to fostering excellence, innovation, belonging and community in all that we do.

The University Secretariat Portfolio oversees the Human Rights Office (HRO), the Ombudsperson and the Internal Audit Office. The HRO oversees the administration of SFU's Human Rights Policy (GP18) and Bullying and Harassment Policy (GP47), and provides community-wide education on addressing and preventing discrimination, bullying and harassment. The Ombudsperson is an independent, impartial and confidential resource that provides information and guidance on students' rights and responsibilities, and University policies and procedures. The Internal Auditor oversees all internal audit activity at the University, and works to improve the University’s management processes, operations and governance processes through a comprehensive, risk-based internal audit plan.

About the Role

The Confidential Administrative Professional III provides confidential administrative, financial, and operational support to the University Secretariat Portfolio, including the Human Rights Office, Ombudsperson and Internal Audit Office (“USEC Offices”). Acting as a trusted administrative hub, the role manages sensitive information, financial coordination, and records administration across multiple oversight functions with distinct and independent mandates, operating within a high-discretion, confidential information environment.
