Position Overview: The Assembler is responsible for quality workmanship with assembly work as assigned for sub-assemblies and main assemblies.
SHIFT: Monday-Friday | 6am-230pm - Must have reliable transportation.
Duties And Responsibilities
Assembler I:
- Apply thread sealant and Loctite to threaded fittings and pipe.
- Follow proper detailing procedure/work instructions.
- Ability to read & interpret production drawings.
- Proper use of the sandblaster.
- Drill and tap holes.
- Read a tape measure to the closest 1/16”.
- Use the protective clothing, devices, and equipment required for the job.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
- Grade 12 education or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Knowledge of equipment, tools, and mechanical devices used for assemblies.
- Assembler I: Good mechanical skills and ability to use basic hand tools (drill, tape measure, etc.)
Physical
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Language
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Computer Skills / Certifications / Licences / Permits
Preference will be given to those with the following:
- Previous experience in mechanical / manufacturing / production.
- Overhead crane and rigging experience or ticket.
- Maintain a valid driver’s licence.
- Previous Forklift experience or ticket.
Other
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to handle conflict.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
