Compensation: $27.11/hour
Work Hours: On Call, Mon-Fri – shifts are 8am-5pm, 9:30am-1:30pm or 2:30-6pm and
available in early years and school aged programs.

Childcare Assistant
Under close supervision, assists senior staff to provide support and direct care to pre-school
and school age children including children with additional needs to stimulate and develop
their intellectual, physical, and emotional growth.
Qualifications
1. Responsible Adult certificate or have completed a course, or a combination of
courses, of at least 20 hours duration in child development, guidance, health and
safety, or nutrition
2. Six (6) months recent related work experience.
3. Valid approved First Aid certificate.
4. Must be 19 years of age.
Job Skills and Abilities
1. Demonstrated ability to work as a contributing member of a team.
2. Demonstrated ability to provide care and mature guidance to children.
Responsibilities
1. Assists senior staff in monitoring children in indoor and outdoor activities and during
rest periods.
2. Assists in planning, preparing, and carrying out developmentally appropriate
programs and activities.
3. Under close supervision, conducts activities with children on an individual and group
basis to promote the development of physical, cognitive, emotional and social skills.
4. Attends to children’s physical needs, which may include diapering, toileting, eating
and sleeping.
5. Maintains records, reports problems or concerns to senior staff.
6. Keeps program facilities and equipment safe and clean, reporting any repairs and
concerns to senior staff.
7. Performs other related duties as required.
