CSN (SHOP NAME) is currently hiring a skilled and meticulous Autobody Refinish technician to become a valued member of our team. The primary duties of the Auto Body Refinish technician involves preparing vehicles for the painting process, which includes tasks such as sanding, priming, and masking. Refinishing vehicle with 2 to 4 stages as required to match any factory finish or better. CSN (SHOP NAME) is known for its high standards and requires a refinish technician that has high quality with efficiency.
- Sand the vehicle surfaces using sandpaper, grinders, or other tools to create a smooth surface for painting, according to paint manufacturer SOP.
- Apply masking tape and paper to protect areas of the vehicle that will not be painted, and from overspray.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer
- Ensure proper adhesion of paint by removing dirt, debris, and imperfections from the surfaces
- Mixing paint and primers according to manufacturer specifications
- Colour match, spray out cards, tint as required
- Maximize material usage, to minimize waste.

- Assist with operating and maintaining painting equipment and tools
- Collaborate with the painting team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality work
- Efficiency with workload, ensuring vehicles are completed in queue set by paint team.
- Moving vehicles in and out of the department, care taken with customer vehicles.
- Ensure all pieces are with the job for refinishing, by reviewing work order for accuracy, verify parts for accuracy prior to prepping.
- Keep areas clean and free of clutter, minimize usage of products to what is required for the repair.
- Dispose of materials properly
- Commit to a safe working environment, primer sprayed in designated areas, wearing issued PPE.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Auto Body prepper/painter or in a similar role
- Knowledge of different types of sanding and masking techniques
- Familiarity with automotive paints, primers, and painting equipment
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
