Position Summary

Signature Sign & Image is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design & Print Coordinator to join our growing team. This position supports the design, production and installation departments through the creation of sign concepts, customer proofs, production-ready artwork, and project documentation.

The ideal candidate is creative, organized, technically minded, and eager to develop a career within the sign and visual communications industry. This role offers exposure to all aspects of sign design, fabrication, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Artwork

  • Create customer proofs, sign concepts, layouts, and presentations.
  • Prepare production-ready artwork for digital printing, vinyl cutting, routing, and fabrication.
  • Modify and revise artwork based on customer feedback and project requirements.
  • Ensure files are properly configured for production and fabrication.
  • Maintain familiarity with Pantone, CMYK, RGB, and colour matching practices.
  • Support branding consistency across customer projects.

Project Support

  • Upload drawings, proofs, revisions, notes, and project documentation to project management software.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Production Staff, and Installers to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Review project requirements and specifications before releasing files for production.
  • Assist with quality control by comparing completed products to approved proofs and drawings.
  • Assist with project coordination, scheduling, and administrative tasks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Source quotes and purchase materials from approved suppliers.
  • Help monitor project budgets by reviewing supplier pricing and purchase costs.
  • Maintain accurate project records, purchase documentation, and vendor communications.

Production & Operational Support

  • Prepare artwork for large-format printing, vinyl cutting, and CNC production.
  • Assist with file setup for installation patterns and templates.
  • Track artwork approvals, production milestones and project documentation.
  • Support production teams with technical design questions and revisions.
  • Participate in occasional site visits, measurements, surveys, and installation support as required.
  • Maintain organized project files and archives.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current with sign industry trends, materials, fabrication methods, and design software.
  • Participate in internal training, health and safety initiatives and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute ideas to improve workflow efficiency and project quality.

Qualifications

Required

  • Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's Licence.

Preferred

  • Experience with sign design, large-format printing, or graphics.
  • Experience preparing permit drawings or technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Suite, SketchUp, SolidWorks Viewer, or similar software.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, construction, or sign company environment.
  • Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience in project coordination or project management.
  • Familiarity with estimating, procurement, or supply chain processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally visit project sites and conduct measurements.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs when assisting with samples, materials, or project setup.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Wage: $24 – $31.25, based on experience and qualifications.
