Position: Youth Worker (2 Floater positions – 6 month contract)

Position Status

We are seeking two youth worker(s) to fill two floater positions in a 6 month contract. This will not be a full time position but rather .85 FTE = 85% FT. The defined hours of work will be based on a four on / four off rotation from Monday to Thursday 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Friday to Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. for an average of 68 hours bi-weekly.

Qualifications

Preferred: Child and Youth Worker Diploma from an accredited College or University

H.B.S.W., B.S.W., B.A. Sociology or Psychology, Onajigawin Indigenous Services Diploma, Social Services Worker Diploma, Developmental Service Worker Diploma.

Skills

Applicants must have an awareness of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

1. Above average verbal skills;

2. Ability to confront youth in a consistent and constructive manner;

3. Above average interpersonal skills;

4. Ability to control and stimulate groups of adolescents

Possession of a valid Ontario Drivers License and current First Aid Certificate;

Applicants must be able to work shift work.

SALARY: As per OPSEU Collective Agreement range from $30.49 to $34.06 per hour
