The Department of Biology is seeking Contract Academic Staff to deliver the following laboratories at Brandon University for Fall 2026. Labs must be delivered in-person.
15:162 Cells, Genetics and Evolution (10.5 credit hours)
Z01 – Mondays 1:40-4:30 PM
Z02 – Mondays 1:40-4:30 PM
Z03 – Tuesdays 1:40-4:30 PM
Z04 – Tuesdays 1:40-4:30 PM
Z05 – Wednesdays 1:40-4:30 PM
Z06 – Thursdays 1:40-4:30 PM
Z10 – Tuesdays 6:00-9:00 PM
Responsibilities include:
- Ability to work independently, including preparation of all materials related to lab content
- Experience in using basic lab equipment, techniques, organisms, including but not limited to the following: micropipettes, spectrophotometers, microscopes, molecular techniques (DNA, protein), bioinformatics
- Familiarity with fundamental scientific reporting (written, graphical, numeracy)
- Familiarity with basic statistics (e.g. Chi-square)
Qualifications: M.Sc. preferred; completion of B.Sc. required. Preference will be given to applicants who have previously taken a first-year Biology course that included labs. Prior experience in laboratory instruction would be an asset.
Salary: $8,132.00 per 3 credit hours
