Production Scheduler

TAPP Workforce Solutions Inc.

Production Scheduler — Manufacturing & Operations

Onsite | Barrie, Ontario | Full-Time | Monday – Friday, Day Shift | $55,000 – $70,000

This role may also be known as: Production Planning Coordinator, Manufacturing Scheduler, Operations Scheduler, Planning & Scheduling Analyst

Keep production moving. Keep customers happy. Keep your career growing.

There is a rhythm to a well-run manufacturing floor — and the Production Scheduler is the person who sets it. This is not a behind-the-scenes administrative role. It is a high-visibility, high-impact position that sits at the intersection of planning, operations, logistics, and customer service. The decisions you make daily touch every corner of the business.

This established packaging manufacturer has built a reputation on quality and follow-through — and they are looking for a Scheduler who takes the same pride in their work. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same, where your problem-solving instincts get exercised constantly, and where you can actually see the impact of your planning decisions in real time, this is where you want to be.

The culture here is collaborative, grounded, and people-first. This is a team that shows up for each other — and for the customers who count on them.

What sets this opportunity apart is the scope of the role and the relationships you will own. You are not buried in a silo. You are connected to production departments, procurement, logistics, customer service, and leadership — coordinating across all of them, keeping information flowing, and making things happen. You have real autonomy to manage priorities, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement. If you want a role where you are valued as a strategic contributor and not just a cog in the machine, this is it.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Developing and managing production schedules that balance customer demand with operational capacity
  • Coordinating timelines across multiple production departments and process stages to ensure on-time delivery
  • Adjusting schedules in real time to accommodate urgent orders and shifting priorities
  • Collaborating with procurement and logistics teams to ensure resources, materials, and workforce are aligned before production runs begin
  • Distributing job documentation to production departments and managing purchase order requests with internal stakeholders
  • Communicating lead times, delivery timelines, and production status to Customer Service and Account Management teams
  • Tracking production progress, flagging delays proactively, and implementing corrective actions
  • Monitoring backlogs and identifying opportunities to improve throughput and workflow
  • Inputting and managing production data in internal scheduling systems and generating clear, accurate status reports for leadership
  • Creating work orders for equipment repairs and maintenance as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in production scheduling, planning, or a similar coordination role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of production scheduling systems and ERP or MRP-style platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills — comfortable working with production, procurement, logistics, and customer-facing teams
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a solutions-first approach
  • Ability to identify process gaps and take initiative to improve workflow and efficiency
  • Organized, reliable, and calm under pressure
  • Experience in a packaging, printing, or custom manufacturing environment is an asset
