Permanent Full-Time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday with occasional evenings or weekends to meet deadlines

Pay Range: Salary Grade 3 | $60,761.96 - $68,388.12

Location: Hybrid | 153 Frederick Street, Kitchener

In this Role, you will contribute to the Community by ...

strengthening the organization's financial processes, supporting transparency, accountability and effective service delivery.

Day-to-day of this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and track month-end close activities and prepare accurate journal entries to support timely financial reporting
  • Support bi-weekly payroll processing, including timecard reviews, reporting, and issue resolution
  • Support accounts payable and receivable, monitoring aging balances and resolving discrepancies
  • Serve as back-up across payrolll, AP and AR to ensure continuity of finance operations
  • Lead audit coordination and maintain SOPs, identifying opportunities to improve financial processes

Please apply if you have ...

  • Experience in accounting, preferably in the NFP sector
  • Solid working knowledge of non-profit accounting principles, including fund accounting
  • Experience with Canadian payroll legislation (an asset)
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to document and maintain standard operating procedures and support process improvement initiatives
  • Strong commitment to accuracy and integrity

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check or Criminal Record Check document
